Where It Begins

Every formula in the Sree Rituals range is developed by a practising Ayurvedic practitioner with deep roots in the Kerala tradition. The practitioner does not hand the formulas to a contract lab and step away. They oversee the preparations — the decoctions, the simmering, the washing — the parts of the process that take time because they have to.

This is not a heritage story invented for marketing. It is the actual reason the range exists: to make available, in a modern skin-care context, the preparations that classical Ayurveda has used for centuries.

Why Classical Botanicals

Saffron. Tulsi. Manjistha. Ashwagandha. These are not exotic ingredients chosen because they sound interesting. They are classical botanicals with centuries of documented use in Ayurvedic practice — plants that the tradition knows how to work with, in combination and over time.

Modern actives appear in Sree Rituals formulas only where they earn their place. Niacinamide in Prabha supports the same outcome the Ayurvedic botanicals are working toward — clarity and evenness. That is the standard every ingredient must meet.

Preparations, Not Just Ingredients

Shata Dhauta Ghrita — ghee washed one hundred times by hand — is a preparation recorded in the classical formulary. It is the base of Snehana, our oleation balm. The washing process takes days. It produces a texture and quality that cannot be replicated by buying ghee and adding it to a formula.

Kumkuma follows the saffron-led Kumkumadi lineage, one of the most respected preparations in classical Ayurveda.

Names That Mean Something

Shuddhi is purification. Snehana is oleation. Prabha is radiance. Tejasvi is luminous. Each name is the Sanskrit word for what the product does — chosen because the tradition was written in Sanskrit, and it felt dishonest to use those methods while discarding the language they came from.

On Being New

Sree Rituals is a new range. We do not have a decade of reviews. What we have is a practitioner who has been preparing these formulations for years, classical methods that have been in practice for centuries, and a commitment to not cutting the corners that make the difference.
